An Illini First

Today was Gizmo's first college football Saturday, and she was so excited she didn't sleep past 6:15 this morning.  She enjoyed breakfast while mommy and daddy woke up with coffee and muffins.  Too anxious to wait to get dressed until closer to gametime, she begged mommy to get her in her game outfit, provided by Aunt Katie -

Yes, that's right - Gizmo already is the proud owner of an Illini cheerleading uniform.  And oh my, she couldn't be cuter!

Mommy and daddy really like the longer, old-school style of this ensemble, as not too much leg is revealed.

I really feel that the socks add something special.

Could she contain her excitement any more?

Mommy and Gizmo are practicing their cheers and singing "Illinois Loyalty".  What a great morning!

Unfortunately, she spit up on this outfit, and so we had to change her before the game into her Illinois onesie (which I didn't get a picture of, because she was cranky all day), which she spit up on, too.  This photo session was by far the highlight of the day, as the Illini really sucked it up this afternoon.  I think this expression says it all:

We'll try again next week!

She is changing to quickly! Glad to see Gizmo is outfitted in her Illini best already. I almost purchased the same outfit for her the day after she was born but figured Aunt Katie was already all over it. Great minds think alike, right Kate?

Also, what in the world are you doing posting at 3:19 am? Get some sleep, woman!

I can not even handle looking at these pictures without feeling myself being pulled to my car and headed North. Mrs - I'll pick you up on the way! :)

I'm so glad Gizmo liked her Illini outfit... there are many more for her to try. Mrs, I can't believe you almost bought the same one!! Haha, I was terrified when I picked it that someone had already bought it for her.

I think the cutest thing is how long the skirt is on her chubby little baby legs. :) Did you already teach Gizmo all the horn flashes for the Illini songs, too?

Too cute! Does this mean she is actually a future Illini cheerleader? Maybe Blaze can be her spotter!

If Blaze fulfilled his life dream then he's a Christian rock star now. I'm afraid to search for him on the internet in case he actually is one.
