The First Room Done

Well, we're in the house.  Finally.  After all of the cleaning and scrubbing and painting.

While we are far from being done, we do have a couple of rooms completed and wanted to show them off.  The master bedroom, one of the rooms that was never done in our Plainfield home, was the first to be finished in our new one.  Here's a before view of the closet in the master bedroom:

While a closet may not be terribly exciting, we needed to repaint the interior from the same color as the room (ugly brownish beige) to a bright white.  The finished product:

Complete with plenty of room for my shoes.  :)

The master bedroom originally looked like this:

While this was not a terrible room, I have always envisioned designing a master bedroom to match the quilt my Grama made me when Mitch and I got married.  I've slowly been purchasing the right pieces to complete the room and refining the design, and finally, here is my masterpiece before furniture:

And after:

(Nevermind the mess still in the hallway)

This room is by far my favorite room in the house right now, very cozy, and a great room for sleeping.  One room done!

By 'master bedroom', you mean 'work room', right?

It's so beautiful!! Completely jealous that you have a purple bedroom... I don't think Matt will allow me to paint any more rooms in our house purple!

I think it goes without saying that I LOVE the purple. Such a deep regal color - it looks very inviting!

Can't wait to see what else you've been up to!

Oh, and how many coats did that take?
